        On behalf of the State of California, it is my distinct pleasure to extend my sincere congratulations for winning this year's Presidential Volunteer Action Award. It is gratifying when unselfish efforts receive the recognition they deserve.

        The Lifesaver Tags you developed will greatly assist emergency personnel with identifying children, locating parents and expediting medical treatment in emergency situations.  The simplicity of the tags, their low cost to implement and the ease in which parents can "tag" their children is very impressive.  This attests to the notion that truly great inventions are generally simple solutions to common problems.

         I am honored to join your friends and colleagues in saluting your commitment to public safety.  Please accept my best wishes.
