Kids Questions 6

aWhat should you do if you are walking down the street, and an unfriendly dog runs out and starts to growl?

a

aDo not run and scream. Stand still with your legs together and arms folded on your chest. Talk softly to the dog, and when he clams down, back up slowly one step at a time. If the dog reacts, stand still until he calms down.

aDoes anyone outside of your family know your bike lock or school lock combination?

aIf anyone does, no tokens for you. Even though they are your friends, they could tell someone who isn’t, and they might steal your possessions. It’s a good idea to keep your combination to yourself.

aFalse. They could be poison and make you very sick.

  a

aYes. You should always tell your parents when there is a change of plans.

aAn older kid, friend or adult wants to show you pictures that make you feel uncomfortable. What should you do?

aYou should say “NO!” Tell your Parents, a Teacher or a Policeman.

aWhat should you do if a stranger asks you to help look for their lost puppy or kitten?

a Say “No,” then move away quickly. Tell your Parents.

aThere is a fire outside your room. Don’t open the door until you test it. How do you go about testing it?

aTouch the door and door knob. If it is hot, do not open it. Go to a window. If it’s not hot, open it slowly, yell “FIRE-FIRE-FIRE.” Go to the nearest exit, away from the fire. Stay low on the floor. Crawling is an excellent means to avoid the smoke.
