What should you do if you are lost at an amusement park or county fair?

You should go the nearest concession or ride operator and tell them you are lost. Do not leave the park or fair with anyone, even if they say they are going to help.

You should not talk, Follow directions, walk and stay in line.

What should you do if a friend falls through the ice?

Young Children: Get adult help as soon as possible.

Older children: DO NOT run over to the hole in the ice. Lay flat on the ice and crawl slowly. Use a sweater or jacket and extend one end to your friend. If there are other children, lay flat, holding each others feet. Send a child for help

What should you do if a burglar is trying to get into your house?

Have an alternate exit. Go to a neighbor's house and call Police. Tell the Police, "burglary in progress". Do not confront the burglar. If you have no exit, use a safe room.

An adult or a kid tells you to keep a secret. What should you do?

You should tell your Parents. Let them decide if it's the type of secret that you can keep.

What should you do if your boat overturns?

Stay with the boat. If you are with someone, join hands over the boat and float to safety.

You are with a friend near a lake, river, water hole, etc. Your friend falls in. What should you do?    

Young Children: Get adult help as soon as possible.

Older Children: DO NOT JUMP IN. Tell your friend to tread water. Find a stick, pole, or use your shirt or trousers as a lifeline, and throw the remainder to your friend. Lay flat on the ground. When they grab hold of one end, pull the lifeline towards you. If you can't reach your friend, look for and object that will float, i.e. a piece of wood, raft, big ball or plastic picnic cooler and throw it to them.

An older kid, friend or adult has some "medicine" that he says will make you "feel good". What should you do?    

You should say "No." Tell your Parents. Don't take any medicine unless you are sick and then only take it from your parents or a doctor. Sometimes dishonest people call drugs or alcohol "medicine".  

What should you do if you are getting ready to take a bath and you notice a curling iron, radio or other appliance plugged in the bathroom?

Let your Parents know. Do not touch it. Electricity, water and children don't mix.   

What should you do if you get dared to do something dangerous?

You should say you don't take dares.
