aHow do you stop a nose bleed?

aTilt head back and pinch nostrils for a couple minutes or longer if necessary. If the nose does not stop bleeding, seek medical attention.

aDo all of your Children have Lifesaver Emergency Alert Cards in their shoes?

aIf not, no tokens for you. The Lifesaver Package has Emergency Alert Cards. Fill the out and make sure they are used.

aWhat should you do if there is a fire in your home?

aGet yourself and the Children out of the house. Call the Fire Department from a neighbor’s. Do not stay in the house to call the Fire Department. Once out of the house, do not re-enter it for valuables.

aWhat do you do when your child has been bitten?

aWash the wound with soap and water. Cover the wound with a gauze dressing and get immediate medical attention. Make arrangements to capture the animal. The Police would be able to help in the animals capture. Very painful rabies shots could be avoided by your quick thinking. Get help from neighbors, if it is possible.

aWhat works best on bumps and bruises?

aIce. Wrap ice in a plastic bag and apply it to the injury.

aWhat should you do if someone shows a lot of attention to or spends a lot of time with your children?

aMany of the people who do this have a genuine love for your Children and can help you in many ways. However, you should always question your Children as to their activities. Keep asking question until you are assured.

aShow us you most recent picture of your Child.

aIf it is more than one year old for Children over five, or more than six months old for younger Children, you receive no token. It is important to always have recent pictures of your Children in case of abduction. The picture you have will be the single most important part of the recovery process.

aWhat should you do if your Child’s clothes catch on fire?

aFirst, stop the Child. Put them on the ground or floor. Roll them in your shirt or jacket to smother the fire.

aIn the case of a missing Child, the phone number and address of all your Children’s friends is crucial in determining abduction.

aWho do you call if someone is poisoned?

aCall the poison center in your area.

aWhat do you do if a burglar is trying to get into your house or apartment?

aHave an alternative exit. Go to a neighbor’s and call the Police. If you do not have an alternative exit, use a safe room. Do not confront the burglar. Tell the Police, “burglar in progress”.

aWhat are your escape routes out of your house or apartment in case of a fire?

aParents, give your Child three different areas where there could be a fire. Show your child how to get to an exit without going through fire.
